5 Daily Tasks of a Godly Man That Will Change Your Life!

Daily

This past week I was down south at Windermere Baptist Conference Center for a week long youth camp. Our theme was called, Daily. It was four days of solid Word, Jesus, worship, decisions, salvations, and fun in between. The theme verse was this:

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I have been thinking about daily from a godly man’s perspective, God gave me five different tasks godly men should do daily!

1. Daily Word

A godly man needs to be in the Word.  The Word is the core of Christianity! If we we are not in the Word daily, we are back sliding! I mentioned this a few times during camp to some of the young people. This is the goal of the devil to born-again believers of the Lord Jesus Christ! We need to hide God’s Word in our hearts!

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

2. Daily Prayer

A godly man needs to be praying, fervently, without ceasing, with pure intentions, and with an agenda!

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

3. Daily Repentance

Without daily repentance we are in sin! We need to remember Romans says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  The Bible continues to say there is none righteous no not one. The Bible also says we must die daily to our selves.  We must repent daily.  This is not to keep our salvation, but to keep our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ fresh and stable. We can make a mess of our relationship with Christ we must repent when we fail Christ! DAILY!

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (11) There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. (12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Finally in 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

4. Daily Praise

Give God praise in the good and the bad, daily. Job praised God in his loss!

Job 1:21-22 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. (22) In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

  1. In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. Psalms 56:10
  2. So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows. Psalms 61:8
  3. I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. Psalms 69:30
  4. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Psalms 86:12

5. Daily Sacrifice

Last but not least we must sacrifice daily with thanksgiving to die daily because we have been bought with a price! The problem with a living sacrifice is we have the tendency of crawling off the altar!

Psalms 116:17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
