KEY 2 – A Godly Leader is in The Book

In the last lesson we went over Key 1 – A Godly Leader Seeks Christ’s Direction. Being a godly leader, in this lesson the Bible is the core to Christianity; it is our manual for living.  If we don’t read the manual we could be doing it all wrong! We will be weak. We will be susceptible to the flesh, the world, false doctrine, false teachings, etc. The Bible, specifically the King James is the Book! (Talk more about this later in another series.)   What is it that keeps you from reading God’s Word more?   What could we do to establish a closer relationship with God’s word?  Think about these questions for a few minutes.  There is always a corer reason why we do things.   Let’s get into the lesson.  Let the Holy Spirit speak to you on this topic.

1. Study!
   1. 2 Timothy 2:15
2. Give attendance to doctrine!
   1. 1 Timothy 1:14
3. Take heed to doctrine!
   1. 1 Timothy 1:16
4. It is inspired by God!
   1. 1 Timothy 3:16
5. If you are not in the Book then doctrine fails!

6. Proverbs 1:5
   1. A wise man will hear and increase learning!
7. Proverbs 18:15
   1. Gets and seeks knowledge!
8. Proverbs 4:5-6
   1. Gets wisdom and understanding
      1. Knowledge – Facts!
      2. Wisdom – Facts applied!
      3. Understanding – The results!  (Holy Spirit!)

If we are not in the Bible, our lives will show it.  Our attitudes will show it. If we are in the Bible our lives will show it. If we are in the Bible our attitudes will show it! When was the last time that you opened up the Book and read it not for just distance, but for depth?
