Christian men, can I ask you a simple question? What is the mission of a fence? A fence keeps things in, and keeps things out! Some fences are easily scaled, others are tall, and some have extra protection, such as razor wire.
Why am I on the subject of fences, you ask?
Some of us Christian men think we have great balancing skills. We think we can walk a fence line while on one side, a rabid dog is nipping at our feet and on the other side safety.
Taking chances in your walk with Christ will eventually land you in a sinful fall that will hurt. Living two lives can be a very dangerous place to live in, moreover it is very foolish. Why take the chance?
Men fell flat on their faces leading double lives. The Bible is clear when it states, “Be sure your sin will find you out!”
What does the Bible say we need to be doing?
FLEE FORNICATION!
1 Corinthians 6:16-18 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. (17) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (18) Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
A FALSE BALANCE IS WRONG!
Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Proverbs 20:23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
WALKING IN THE SPIRIT IS RIGHT!
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
PURE THOUGHTS NOT WICKED!
Pro_15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
These are just a few reasons not to get on the fence line men! Get back in the boundaries of Christ’s safety and don’t get bit by that rabid dog we call sin!
The life of being a godly man in this wicked and perverse world will always be a struggle as long as we are breathing. Get a hold of a godly man that is strong in the faith and ask him to help you. If he is truly a godly man, he will invest in your life, teaching you God’s ways holding you accountable in the things of God. He will be there in your successes and failures, your good times and bad, fighting for you, praying for you and cheering you on!
